Escape Room The Mist Chapter II
Hello everyone and welcome to the walkthrough for Chapter 2 of “Escape Room The Mist.” At the beginning of the second chapter, you will again find yourself in a horse-drawn carriage with a very old lady.
Tap on the red curtains behind the old lady to get off the carriage and we will begin the second chapter of this story.
Chapter 2 IVY
Tap on the bed on the left to take a closer look at it. You will see scissors on the bed, so tap on them to pick them up. After that, tap on the arrow in the lower left corner to go back.
Next, tap on the picture located in the small room on the left, to take a closer look at it.
To the left of the picture, you will see a green item with the letter “R”. Tap on it to pick it up, and a “Family badge piece (Ivy)” will be added to your inventory. This is the first of the five pieces that we will have to find in this chapter.
Once you’re done, tap on the arrow in the lower left corner to go back.
Next, tap on the vase on the desk in the corner on the left to take a closer look at it.
Tap on the vase several times to shake it, and eventually, you will turn it over.
A “Key” will fall out of the vase, so let’s tap on it to pick it up. After that, tap on the arrow in the lower left corner to go back.
Ok, since we have the key, we can now unlock the drawer that we saw below the picture. So, tap on the picture in the small room on the left to take a closer look at it.
Select the “Key” from the inventory and use it to unlock the middle drawer below the picture.
You will find a small statue in the drawer. Tap on it to pick it up and a “Statue” will be added to your inventory. After that, tap on the arrow in the lower left corner to go back.
Next, tap on the clock, located above the fireplace on the right, to take a closer look at it.
First, tap on the “Matches” located just to the left of the clock to pick them up.
You will notice an empty slot at the top of the clock. Select the “Statue” from the inventory and insert it into this slot.
The hands on the clock will move, and a few minutes later, the tentacles above the bed on the left will be removed, out of the screen. With that, we will gain access to the cabinet behind the bed.
So. let’s tap on the cabinet to take a closer look at it, and tap again to open it.
Tap on the item on the left to pick it up and “Flowered light – Blooming flowers” will be added to your inventory. Also, on the right, we can see a box with four symbols. We will get back to it a bit later, once we discover the correct combination of the symbols.
For now, tap on the arrow in the lower left corner to go back.
Next, tap on the vase again (on the desk on the left) to take a closer look at it.
Here we can see an empty slot to the right of the white flower. So, select the “Flowered light – Blooming flowers” from the inventory and insert it into the empty slot.
As soon as you do inset the “Flower” into the empty slot, you will activate the mirror, and we can now see another room. The mirror functions as a portal, and, once activated, we can use it to travel to the other rooms.
So, let’s do that. Tap on the mirror to proceed to the next room.
Ok, let’s explore the new room. Tap on the bed on the left to take a closer look at it.
On the left side of the bed, you will notice another “Family badge piece (Ivy)”. Tap on it to pick it up, and you will have 2 out of 5 pieces.
After that, tap on the arrow on the left to go back.
Next, tap on the table in front of you to take a closer look.
Tap on the tube on the right side of the table to pick it up, and “Goggles” will be added to your inventory. If you tap on the magnifying glass on the left, you will be able to take a closer look at the map. We will come back to this map a bit later in this walkthrough.
For now, tap on the arrow in the lower left corner to go back.
Let’s proceed. Tap on the fireplace on the right to take a closer look at it.
You will notice that the fire has almost died out, so select the “Matches” from the inventory and use it to start the fire (this shouldn’t work without unburnt firewood, but we will let it pass).
When the fire starts burning again, four symbols will appear on the wall above it. Memorize/write down these symbols, because we will need them to unlock the box that we saw in the previous room.
Once you’re done, tap on the arrow in the lower left corner to go back.
Ok, let’s go back to the previous room. Tap on the “Map” in the lower right corner to bring it up. After that, tap on the room in the top left slot.
Tap on the box on the shelf on the left to take a closer look at it, and tap again to start the interaction.
Let’s enter the four symbols that we saw above the fireplace.
To do that,
Tap five times on the first symbol (left to right).
Tap three times on the second symbol.
Tap once on the third symbol.
Tap four times on the fourth symbol.
As soon as you enter the correct combination of symbols, the two small compartments on the box will open and inside you will find two items. Tap on the “Key to the Octavo” on the left and the “Engraved badge” on the right to pick them up.
After that, tap on the arrow in the lower left corner to go back.
Let’s go back to the previous room. Tap on the map in the lower right corner to bring it up. After that, tap on the middle room at the top.
Tap on the box on the bed on the left to take a closer look at it.
Let’s select the “Keys to the Octavo” from the inventory and use them to unlock the wooden box.
On the top side of the box, you will see a part of a note. Tap on it to pick it up and “Part of the Diary” will be added to your inventory. We will come back to the music box a bit later, once we find a record.
For now, tap on the arrow in the lower left corner to go back.
Next, if you take a look at the shelf just to the left of the open window you will see another box. Let’s tap on this box to take a closer look.
In the middle of the box, you will notice an empty slot. So, let’s select the “Engraved badge” from the inventory and put it into the empty slot.
Inside the box, you will find two items, so let’s tap on them to pick them up. “Flowered light – The budding flower” and a “Wooden block” will be added to your inventory.
After that, tap on the arrow in the lower left corner to go back.
Ok, previously we used the “Flowered light” to open the portal inside the mirror. So, we should be able to do that again and gain access to the next room.
With that said, let’s tap on the mirror on the wall on the left (just to the left of the shelf, and above the box with a cross) to take a closer look at it.
Select the “Flowered light – The budding flower” and insert it into the empty slot on the right.
As soon as you insert the “Flowered light – The budding flower” into the empty slot, the image in the mirror will change and you will open another portal.
So, let’s tap on the mirror to proceed to the next room.
We are now in the library, so let’s explore it. First, tap on the box with books in the middle of the room to take a closer look at it.
Next, tap on the green “Book” to pick it up. After that, tap on the arrow in the lower left corner to go back.
Next, tap on the large, white suitcase on the left to take a closer look at it.
Select the “Scissors” from the inventory and use it to open the box.
In the suitcase, you will find two items. Tap on “Vinyl Disc” and “Wooden Blocks” to pick them up. Later, we will go back to the previous room and use the “Vinyl Disc” in the musical box.
But, for now, let’s further explore this room. Tap on the arrow in the lower left corner to go back.
Let’s continue. Tap on the cabinet located just to the right of the staircase to take a closer look at it.
Here, we have another puzzle. We can see two wooden blocks in the slots on the right, but the slots on the left are empty. So, select the “Wooden blocks” from the inventory and insert them into the slots on the left.
Ok, our task is to vertically arrange the wooden blocks to form a picture of a butterfly. So, let’s do that.
We can vertically divide the picture into four parts. So, we have the top part, upper-middle part, lower-middle part, and lower part. Let’s arrange the pieces.
Step 1
Drag the “Wooden block” in the first slot (left to right) into the bottom part of the picture.
Step 2
Drag the “Wooden block” in the second slot into the upper-middle part of the picture.
Step 3
Drag the “Wooden block” in the third slot into the lower-middle part of the picture.
Step 4
Drag the “Wooden block” in the fourth slot into the upper part of the picture.
NOTE: You can see the solution in the image below.
As soon as you arrange the pieces of the picture, the small compartment below it will open and you will see a large book. Tap on the “Notebook” to pick it up.
After that, tap on the arrow in the lower left corner to go back.
Next, select the “Notebook” from the inventory, to bring it up. Tap on the “Notebook” to open it.
We can see that a part of the page in the notebook is missing. So, select “Part of the diary” from the inventory and attach it to the torn page.
Ok, we can now see some symbols in the notebook. Let’s see what we can do with this information. Tap on the arrow in the lower left corner to go back.
Next, tap on the wooden box with a head, located on the shelf on the right, on the second floor.
Tap on the “Family badge piece (Ivy)” on the right to pick it up. We now have three out of five pieces.
After that, tap on the box to start the interaction.
Here, we can see some symbols and two gears with triangles in the middle. There is a line of lighter color at the bottom edge of each triangle and this line represents the direction in which the triangle is pointing.
If you pay attention to the symbols, you will notice that they are very similar to the symbols that we saw in the “Notebook”. So, let’s open the notebook and take a look at these symbols.
Let’s pay attention to the two symbols on the right page. To solve the previous puzzle, the top triangle should point to the first symbol (top to bottom) on the right page. The second triangle should point to the second symbol on the right page.
So, let’s memorize/write down these symbols. After that, tap on the arrow in the lower left corner to go back.
Tap on the box with the head again to start the interaction.
Let’s solve this puzzle. We should point the top triangle toward the symbol on the left.
We should point to the second triangle toward the symbol in the top-right.
When you turn the triangles toward the correct symbols, colorful tentacles will grow out of the head’s ears. This indicates that we are getting closer to unlocking the box.
So, in order to unlock the box, we will have to look at the second pair of symbols in the “Notebook” and turn the triangles to point at these symbols.
Well, first we have to take a look at the symbols, so let’s tap on the “Notebook” in our inventory to bring it up, and tap again to open it.
Next, drag the right page to the left and you will see two new symbols on the left page.
Now, let’s pay attention to the two symbols on the left page. The top triangle should point to the first symbol (top to bottom) on the left page. The second triangle should point to the second symbol on the left page.
Just like before, let’s memorize/write down these symbols. After that, tap on the arrow in the lower left corner to go back.
Tap on the box with the head again to start the interaction.
Let’s solve this puzzle. We should point the top triangle toward the symbol in the top left.
We should point to the second triangle toward the symbol in the down-right.
After we point to the correct symbols for the second time, the box will open. Tap on the “Quill” to pick it up. After that, tap on the arrow in the lower left to go back.
Ok, we have found the “Vinyl Disc” so let’s go back to the bedroom.
Tap on the map to bring it up. After that, tap on the middle room in the top row.
Tap on the music box located on the bed on the left to take a closer look at it.
Select the “Vinyl Disc” from the inventory and insert it into the empty slot.
You will hear music and some strange creepy noises in the background. A few moments later, the music will stop, and the chessboard, located on the wall next to the bed will fall down, revealing some kind of a (blue) hidden safe.
Tap on the safe to take a closer look at it. Here, you will notice that we need a password of 3 letters and 3 numbers in order to open this safe. The password has 3 parts, and each part (pair) consists of one letter and one number.
Ok, next we will try to discover the password. Tap on the arrow in the lower left corner to go back.
Let’s take another look at the map which we saw earlier. Tap on the small table on the right to examine it.
After that, tap on the magnifying glass, to examine the map.
Select the “Quill” from the inventory and tap on the top right corner of the map (quill outline) to start the minigame.
Ok, here we have another minigame. We should use the “Quill” to connect all the dots on the map, and we should also draw all the paths between the dots.
Before we begin, w should pay attention to the numbers, arranged vertically, on the left side of the map, and letters arranged horizontally at the bottom of the map. We will use these letters and numbers to determine the position (coordinates) of dots on the grid.
Ok, we will do this puzzle in several steps. Let’s begin.
Step 1
We will begin from the dot located at the “F1” position. So, let’s tap on this dot to select it. After that, tap on the dot at the “B1” position to connect these two dots.
Step 2
Tap on the “G2” dot to connect it to the “B1”. After that, tap on the “I2” to connect it to the “G2”.
Step 3
Tap on the “F1” dot to connect it to the “I2”. After that, tap on the “J1” to connect it to the “F1”.
Step 4
Tap on the “I2” dot to connect it to the “J1”. After that, tap on the “H4” to connect it to the “I2”.
Step 5
Tap on the “F5” dot to connect it to the “H4”. After that, tap on the “G2” to connect it to the “F5”.
Step 6
Tap on the “H4” dot to connect it to the “G2”. After that, tap on the “E3” to connect it to the “H4”.
Step 7
Tap on the “B4” dot to connect it to the “E3”. After that, tap on the “F5” to connect it to the “B4”.
Step 8
Tap on the “D4” dot to connect it to the “F5”. After that, tap on the “C2” to connect it to the “D4”.
Step 9
Tap on the “A5” dot to connect it to the “C2”. After that, tap on the “B4” to connect it to the “A5”.
Step 10
Tap on the “C2” dot to connect it to the “B4”. After that, tap on the “B1” to connect it to the “C2”.
Step 11
Lastly, tap on the “A5” dot to connect it to the “B1”. With this step, we will create all connections between the dots, and you will solve this puzzle.
As soon as you connect all the dots, the map will change and three strange symbols will appear. Our task is to determine the coordinates of these three symbols, in the same way as we determined the positions of the dots. Once that is done, we should memorize/write down the shape of each symbol and its coordinates, because we will need this information in order to unlock the wall safe.
So, let’s do that. We will start with the first symbol (looking from left to right)
First symbol = A5
Second symbol = D3
Third symbol = G2
Once you’re done, tap on the arrow in the lower left corner to go back.
Next, tap on the (blue) wall safe on the left to take a closer look at it. After that, tap on the safe again to start the interaction.
Here, we should first look at the symbols on the gold plate at the top of the safe. We will examine them from left to right, and compare them with the symbols that we discovered on the map.
Once we have the matching symbols, we will write down the coordinates for that symbol. The combination of the three coordinates (one for each symbol) represents the password. Let’s begin.
The first symbol on the gold plate is the same as the first symbol on the map. So, let’s write down the coordinates for the first symbol.
First = A5
The second symbol on the gold plate is the same as the third symbol on the map. Let’s write down the coordinates for the third symbol (on the map).
Second = G2
The third symbol on the gold plate is the same as the second symbol on the map. Let’s write down the coordinates for the second symbol (on the map).
Third = D3
When we put it all together, we will get “A5G2D3”. So, let’s enter this password.
Inside the safe, you will find a “Painting” and “Slides”. Tap on them to pick them up.
After that, tap on the arrow in the lower left corner to go back.
Let’s go back to the first room. To get there, tap on the map icon in the lower right corner. After that, tap on the left room in the top row.
You will notice three paintings on the wall on the right, and we have the missing painting. So, let’s tap on the paintings to take a closer look at them.
Select “Painting” from the inventory and tap on the empty spot in the top left to place it.
Here, we have another minigame. Our task is to put the correct item into each painting. This is a simple puzzle, and we will complete it in a few steps. Let’s begin.
Step 1
Drag the flowers from the painting in the lower left corner and put them into the vase in the top right corner.
Step 2
Next, drag the knife from the picture in the lower left corner and put it into the hand in the lower right corner.
Step 3
Lastly, drag the parrot from the picture in the lower left corner and put it into the birdcage in the upper right corner. You will also place the cat on the tree in the lower left corner, and, with this step, you will solve this puzzle.
As soon as you complete this puzzle, the word “Kill” will appear in the picture in the bottom right corner (below the hand with the knife).
Memorize/write down this word because we will need it for the next puzzle. After that, tap on the arrow in the lower left corner to go back.
Let’s go to the library (third room). To do that, tap on the map icon in the lower right corner to bring it up. After that, tap on the right room in the top row.
You will also notice that we have completed all the challenges in the first two rooms.
Tap on the bookshelf in the middle of the room to take a closer look at it.
After that, tap on the four letters “k” in the bottom right corner to start the interaction.
Enter the password “KILL” that we discovered after solving the picture puzzle in the first room.
You will unlock the compartment in the top right corner, and inside you will find another flowered light. Tap on it to pick it up and “flowered light – The Growing Flowers” will be added to your inventory.
After that, tap on the arrow in the lower left corner to go back.
Tap on the mirror located on the left side of the top floor to take a closer look at it.
Select the “flowered light – The Growing Flowers” and insert it into the empty slot.
By placing the “Growing Flowers” into the empty slot, we will create a portal to the next room. Let’s go there and explore this new room. Tap on the mirror.
Let’s take a closer look at the item on the piano, located in the bottom left corner of the room.
The item on the piano seems to be some kind of projector, but two of its parts are missing. So, our next task will be to assemble the projector.
But before we do that, tap on the “Family badge piece (Ivy)” to pick it up, and you will collect the fourth out of the five pieces.
We already have both missing parts, so let’s assemble the projector. Select the “Goggles” from the inventory and insert them into the empty slot.
Next, select the “Slides” from the inventory and insert them into the other empty slot.
We will activate the projector, and now we can see the image on the wall. Let’s tap on the image to take a closer look at it.
Here, we have another minigame. We can see eight parts of the picture arranged in two rows. Our task is to rearrange the parts, and the picture that we should assemble should look like the interior of this room. We will do this puzzle in several steps. Let’s begin.
Step 1
Tap on the fourth picture (left to right) in the top row to select it. After that, tap on the first image in the top row to swap their positions.
Step 2
Tap on the third picture in the bottom row to select it. After that, tap on the first picture in the bottom row to swap their positions.
Step 3
Tap on the second picture in the bottom row to select it. After that, tap on the third picture in the top row to swap their positions.
Step 4
Tap on the first picture in the top row to select it. After that, tap on the first picture in the bottom row to swap their positions.
Step 5
Tap on the second picture in the top row to select it. After that, tap on the second picture in the bottom row to swap their positions.
Step 6
Tap on the third picture in the top row to select it. After that, tap on the third picture in the bottom row to swap their positions.
Step 7
Tap on the second picture in the top row to select it. After that, tap on the fourth picture in the bottom row to swap their positions.
Step 8
Tap on the second picture in the top row to select it. After that, tap on the third picture in the top row to swap their positions. With this last step, you will complete the puzzle.
As soon as you complete the puzzle, a little girl will appear (probably Ivy) and she will play the piano. A few moments later, she will disappear. However, once she’s gone, you will probably notice that a book has appeared on her chair.
Interestingly, the book will also appear in the real world, not just in the picture. So, let’s tap on the arrow in the lower left corner to go back.
Tap on the book (on the piano chair) to pick it up.
We now have two books, so we can go back to the third room (library) and start the minigame in that room. To get to the library, tap on the map icon in the lower right corner. After that, tap on the right room in the top corner.
Tap on the bookshelf in the middle (bottom floor) to take a closer look at it.
If you look at the left side, you will notice two bookshelves. However, we can also see that two books on the top shelf are missing.
So, select the books from the inventory and place them on the top shelf.
Ok, here we have another minigame. We can’t move the books on the bottom shelf but we can swap the positions of the books on the top shelf. With that said, our task is to arrange the books on the top shelf to match the books on the bottom shelf.
We will do this puzzle in several steps. Let’s begin.
Step 1
Select the second book (left to right, blue book) then tap on the seventh book (red) to swap their positions.
Once you complete this step, the blue book and the red book on the top shelf will match the positions of the same books on the bottom shelf.
Step 2
Select the first book (green book) then tap on the eighth book (brown) to swap their positions.
Step 3
Select the third book (dark red book) then tap on the sixth book (brown) to swap their positions.
Step 4
Lastly, select the fourth book (pink book) then tap on the fifth book (blue) to swap their positions. With this last step, you will properly arrange all books on the top shelf, and complete this puzzle.
As soon as you complete this puzzle, the secret compartment will open and you will find another glowing light. Tap on it to pick it up and “flowered light – The Withered Flowers” will be added to your inventory.
After that, tap on the arrow in the lower left corner to go back.
Next, let’s open the portal to the next room. Tap on the mirror located on the left side of the top floor to take a closer look at it.
Select the “flowered light – The Withered Flowers” from the inventory and insert it into the empty slot at the bottom right side of the mirror.
Just like before, you will open the portal to the next room. Tap on the mirror to go through the portal.
Let’s explore this new room. Tap on the mirror, located on the desk on the right side to take a closer look at it.
On the right side, you will notice something that looks like a Faberge egg, so let’s tap on it to open it.
Inside the egg, you will find “Hidden items (Ivy)” so let’s tap on it to pick it up. After that, tap on the arrow in the lower left corner to go back.
Next, let’s take a closer look at the two clocks located at the top of the shelf on the left side of the room.
Here, we can see two clocks. The clock on the right is showing 12 o’clock and we can see the word “devil”. The hands on the clock on the left are spinning, and our task will be to set the time on this clock.
We will come back to the clocks once we discover the correct time for the clock on the left. For now, tap on the arrow in the lower left corner to go back.
Tap on the desk in the small room on the right to take a closer look at it.
Here, we can see the “Weights” on the right side, so let’s tap on it to pick it up. We can also see a locked drawer, but we will come back to it once we have the key.
For now, tap on the arrow in the lower-left corner of the screen to go back.
Let’s go back to the room with the piano and the fireplace. Tap on the map in the lower right corner to bring it up. After that, tap on the room on the right in the bottom row.
Tap on the wooden box located on the left side of the wooden shelf.
We can see the weight on the right side, but the hook on the left is empty. So, select “Weight” from the inventory and hang it on the left hook.
The word “devil” will appear on the box. Below it, we can also see “1950”. Previously, we saw the word “devil” on the two clocks. The “1950” doesn’t represent the year, it actually represents the time 19:50. In other words the time is 07:50.
Memorize/write down the time because we will need it to set the time on the clock, and with that done, we will solve the next puzzle. Once you’re done, tap on the arrow in the lower left corner to go back.
Ok, let’s go back to the room with the two clocks. Tap on the map to bring it up. After that, tap on the left room in the bottom row.
Tap on the two clocks to take a closer look at them. The clocks are located at the top of the large bookshelf on the left.
On the clock on the right we can see the word devil, so let’s tap on it to start the interaction.
Let’s set the time. The hour hand should almost point at VIII – because if the time is 07:50 it’s almost 8 o’clock. The minute hand should point at X.
As soon as you set the correct time the clock will open and inside you will find a “Key”. Tap on it to pick it up.
After that, tap on the arrow in the lower left corner to go back.
Next, tap on the large cabinet on the right (above the sofa) to take a closer look at it. Next, tap on the cabinet to open it.
“Only death can end everything” will appear on the wall. Interesting.
Let’s go back. Tap on the arrow in the lower left corner.
Ok, previously we saw a locked drawer, so let’s go back and unlock it. Tap on the desk located in the small room on the right to take a closer look at it.
Select the “Key” from the inventory and use it to unlock the drawer.
In the drawer, we will find another “Lantern”. Tap on it to pick it up.
After that, tap on the arrow in the lower left corner to go back.
Tap on the “Lantern” in your inventory to select it. Tap on the “Lantern” again (in the middle of the screen) to start the interaction.
Just like before, the “Lantern” will be turned on and the light bulb will be transformed into an “Apple”. Tap on the “Apple” to pick it up.
Next, let’s tap on the picture on the left (a hand reaching toward a branch) to take a closer look at it.
Select the “Apple” from the inventory and attach it to the branch.
The little girl heard that someone opened the door, and then she heard the sound of heavy footsteps. Someone or something large was approaching.
Tap on the picture to continue the story.
The girl was scared, and she grasped tighter the knife that she was holding in her hand. At least she had something to defend herself.
Tap on the arm in the picture, and the knife will appear in the hand of the wooden arm. Tap on the arm once more, and the hand will try to stab you.
You will find yourself in the carriage with an old lady again. She will speak to you.
It seems that the girl died that night. This was probably the night when the occupants of the house went crazy and wanted to kill each other (this night was also described in the first chapter).
The grandma thinks that the child of the two sad and troubled parents (in this story) probably had some issues because it was growing up in such an unhealthy environment.
The grandma will say that you should remember the name of the child, “Jason”. Next, she will tell you to go back to the house and continue your investigation.
